Trailcycling.ie was born from a vision of show casing our amazing countryside by cycling old coach roads, trails, forest tracks, bog roads or as we Irish say “ bohereen’s”
We feel that there is no better way to observe and appreciate our beautiful scenery than on a bike. Let’s face it, viewing scenery from on a car, bus etc. is like watching a movie in fast forward: Get on a bike and you won’t miss a scene not to mention being able to pause wherever you like.
Our tours take in the best of what the Irish countryside has to offer during your biking holiday and we can facilitate you whether it’s a leisure cycle at your own pace or an action filled cross country experience you’re after.
We are aware that cycling off road can be challenging so therefore we thought it necessary to provide skills training to help people new/retuning to cycling to negotiate the trails in a confident and safe manner thus allowing a more enjoyable experience.
We are a training centre for Cycling Ireland’s excellent Gearing-Up Off Road Programme which is based in Lough Key Forest and Activity Park.
In conjunction with Roscommon Sports Partnership we provide cycle safety training for National School children. With increased traffic on our roads we feel this program is vital in educating children to become wiser safer cyclists with a skill set they will undoubtable take forward into adult life. We also provide adult cycle safety training.
We provide bike maintenance courses ranging from Level 1 basic maintenance and road side repair to our Level 2 comprehensive course which involves stripping down and servicing practically every component of a bike.
Our City & Guilds qualified bike mechanic ensures our fleet of bikes are kept in first class condition and should you need your own bike serviced/repaired we have a repair shop based in Boyle.
